As the son of Mexican immigrants who endured extreme poverty, my parents came to the U.S. for a better future for my sister and me. Taught the value of hard work through field labor, I was inspired to give back to the community and be part of something bigger.
To build my future, I pursued a BA in Psychology, recognizing the importance of human connections. However, addiction was underrepresented in my education and the workforce. This led me to start my career at Aegis Treatment Centers in 2018, providing direct services to patients and educating the Yuba Sutter area about harm reduction.
Since then, I’ve been fortunate to raise awareness, provide education, and promote preventive care in surrounding communities. My goal is to reduce the misunderstanding of addiction and make recovery more accessible for those in need.
