Leading Recovery Provider Offers Medication-Assisted Treatment and Hope to Communities
Elyria, OH – Pinnacle Treatment Centers (PTC), a leader in providing accessible treatment for adult men and women struggling with substance use disorders, will open Elyria Treatment Services, located at 174 Midway Boulevard, Elyria, Ohio, on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. This is Pinnacle’s ninth opioid treatment program (OTP) located in Ohio. Pinnacle also has several office-based opioid treatment programs (OBOTs) within the state and a drug and alcohol addiction residential treatment center, Recovery Works, located in Columbus.
Pinnacle is one of a select few treatment facilities in the area to provide underserved communities with affordable substance abuse treatment and the option of outpatient care. This model of care empowers patients to take control of their treatment as it affords them the opportunity to continue and maintain employment, school obligations, and family commitments while getting the treatment necessary to address their recovery.
“The opioid epidemic has taken a huge toll throughout the state. Treatment is needed now more than ever. Pinnacle is committed to bringing care directly into the community to help solve this crisis,” said Joe Pritchard, CEO of Pinnacle Treatment Centers, who made his personal journey through recovery and is now dedicated to helping others.
Pritchard recognizes the need for outpatient programs that are designed to offer support in managing stress and providing patients with relapse prevention strategies while connecting them with community support. “We are taking active steps to provide aid to Ohio for alcohol, substance, and opioid use disorder treatment. Ohio has the second highest rate of opioid-related overdose deaths in the nation and we are bringing relief directly into the communities being impacted.”
Elyria Treatment Services offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), including methadone, buprenorphine, and Vivitrol, as well as individual, group, and family therapy. The clinic offers reasonable self-pay rates and also accepts Medicaid and Medicare.
While medication-assisted treatment has received some scrutiny from the public, experts agree that it is one of the most effective treatments for those struggling with opioid use disorder. Medication-assisted treatment programs decrease opioid use, opioid-related overdose deaths, criminal activity, and transmission of infectious diseases. Conversely, MAT increases social functioning and time in treatment, and saves lives.
“Medication-assisted treatment can be truly life-saving for those struggling with an opioid use disorder. Addiction is a disease that often is recurring and the individual can experience multiple relapses on their path to recovery,” said Ricky Ferguson, executive director of Elyria Treatment Services. “We’re committed to being here every step of the way so that our clients and their families can reclaim their lives and future.”
Pinnacle’s 25+ programs in Ohio exemplify an integrated ambulatory model of care. By delivering high-quality, cost-effective care through a full continuum including residential, ambulatory care, MAT/opioid treatment programs, and transitional living, Pinnacle is able to treat more individuals by removing the barriers that make it difficult to get help.
The clinic will be open Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m.- 2 p.m., and on Saturdays 6- 9 a.m. Anyone needing a free confidential assessment can call 440-723-8997.
