About 130 people attended the Erie Drug and Alcohol Coalition’s 10th annual conference. The goal of the conference is to exchange ideas to reduce substance abuse for a healthier community. The surge in overdoses and opioid addiction in recent years was the focus of the session. The co-chairman of the coalition, Dan Bolla says a key to attacking the problem is the availability of treatment options. He said, “These folks need to have access to many resources. The more we can do that the better chance we will have at reducing overdoses.”
The keynote speaker, Jason Snyder, Regional Director of Pinnacle Treatment Centers says treatment is critical, but prevention is the ultimate answer.
