We have many outstanding pharmacists throughout our network whose contributions are invaluable to our patient care. Today on National Pharmacist Day*, we’d like to take this opportunity to highlight two in particular:
Sally Goldberg, RPh
As the Virginia regional director of pharmacy, Sally performs several important roles for Pinnacle. For starters, she prepares the take-home medication units for approximately 600 patients at FCCR Radford—our opioid addiction treatment center in Richmond.
In addition, she travels throughout the Commonwealth to our eight other opioid treatment centers to train and assist other Pinnacle Virginia pharmacists.
Sally is the coordinator for our DEA controlled substance online ordering and our Narcan distribution program for all nine clinics.
She graduated from the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy and completed a residency in hospital pharmacy at the Medical College of Virginia.
Sally has been in the field of substance use disorder for 10 years and has found it to be the most rewarding pharmacy work she has done in her career.
“What I love most about my job is working with the extremely compassionate and knowledgeable staff at our programs throughout Virginia,” Sally said.
“It is so gratifying to hear our patients say how appreciative they are to be in a program that treats them with respect and where the entire staff cares about their recovery.”
Please feel free to reach out to Sally directly if you’d like to introduce yourself. She can be reached at:
Gina Carr, RPh, PharmD
As regional director of pharmacy in Georgia, Gina is responsible for overseeing the pharmacies for our five HealthQwest opioid addiction treatment centers throughout the state. She offers support to each site director of pharmacy and helps ensure compliance with DEA regulations.
Gina also works at the Warner Robins location as its director of pharmacy. She prepares take-home medication doses, manages inventory and ordering, provides medication information/counseling, and assists the nursing department as needed. Gina helps also to facilitate DEA audits and inspections.
“It has been a pleasure to work for a growing company that touches the lives of so many people in a positive way,” Gina said.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Emory University in Georgia, and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University’s Southern School of Pharmacy.
“My hope for our patients is to receive the best quality of care possible. Watching a patient enter into treatment and progress through the program is such a rewarding experience. I feel I am making a positive contribution to this field that is making a difference in the lives of our patients.”

Sally, Gina and all our pharmacists have a powerful impact on our patients in making sure medication use at our facilities is safe and patients are achieving the best outcomes during their treatment.
*National Pharmacist Day honors pharmacists across different specialties and in every setting by recognizing the impact they have in health care. When it comes to enhancing patient care and improving health outcomes, pharmacists are key team members.
Through managing complex drug regimens, counseling to ensure patients remain adherent, helping navigate insurance and cost concerns, and much more, pharmacists have an irreplaceable role in health care and at Pinnacle Treatment Centers.
