Outpatient Treatment

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is tailored to the unique needs of those suffering from substance and alcohol use disorders. We provide a judgment-free environment that builds on patients’ individual strengths. With the support of our clinical team, patients learn to identify relapse triggers as they build Relapse Prevention Plans and are counseled about the nature and dynamics of addiction and recovery. Throughout the course of the program patients will be given the tools to begin to repair the damage done to themselves and their families.

    Recovery Works South Shore Outpatient in Covington, Kentucky, is an intensive outpatient drug treatment program (IOP). We help clients in Covington, Newport and surrounding cities in Kenton County recover from substance abuse and alcoholism.

    Covington is the largest city in Northern Kentucky, close to both the Ohio and Licking Rivers. As such, people suffering from alcoholism and drug addiction in both Kentucky and Cincinnati, Ohio can benefit from our intensive outpatient rehab services. Our center is easily accessible for residents in Helentown and Peaselburg. We are a brief walk from the TANK bus. The building is close to I-71 and we have ample parking.

    Recovery Works South Shore IOP is staffed with stellar drug and alcohol counselors with NAADC (Association for Addiction Professionals) certification; we also have a medical doctor on staff. New clients benefit from extensive assessment and intensive outpatient treatment planning, which optimizes their potential for success. Many plans will include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), life skills and motivational interviewing.

    For all patients, we believe that education on the mechanisms of drug addiction and alcoholism is a key component to lasting sobriety. Further, patients both learn about relapse and are encouraged to develop their own relapse prevention plans, which may include participation in 12-step programs – Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and Narcotics Anonymous (NA). Various addiction treatment sessions are held in both individual and group settings, multiple times a week in the afternoons and evenings between 1:30p and 8:00p.

    We encourage people who have completed our program to stay involved in the Covington drug abuse and alcoholism recovery community by attending our weekly alumni meetings.

    We are proud to offer intensive outpatient drug and alcohol treatment for patients from Covington and nearby areas and accept many state and private health insurance policies, such as Aetna, Blue Cross and UBH. We are also a licensed Medicaid provider.
